3 Reasons Why ABC Family Should Renew 'State of Georgia'

 

Raven-Symoné and Majandra Delfino make an entertaining (and surprisingly quirky) duo on ABC Family's State of Georgia. I'll admit, I didn't watch the series from the beginning but watching back to back episodes on demand made me appreciate its charm. Since the season finale airs tonight here are three reasons why ABC Family should green-light a second season:

1. Raven-Symoné is funny - Seriously! You may have forgotten this but she's been funny for a long time. As kid on The Cosby Show, as a teen on Disney Channel's That's So Raven and now as an adult on State of Georgia.  If there's a formula to finding your niche, she's found it because her comedic timing is perfect for television.

2. Nerd Moments - I'll take a quality nerd reference wherever I can get it and Majandra Defino's physics-loving Jo enjoys a good World of Warcraft raid. How many TV shows let women be geeky... really geeky? Score.

3. Loretta Devine's one-liners - Her character, Aunt Honey, always has a witty  entrance and she'll keep you guessing what she'll say next. She hobnobs with the upper crust of NYC and always has an outlandish story to share. In one episode she has Jason Derulo chasing after her. Literally.

The season finale airs tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC Family with back to back episodes.
