Neo Ned

Neo Ned stars Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Renner in an interesting spin on a love story...

Committed to a psychiatric hospital, a neo-Nazi falls for a black woman who channels Adolf Hitler.

Weird, huh? Don't let the outlandish plot turn you away. It's actually an intriguing story, one of the most interesting roles I've seen Gabrielle Union in. And Jeremy Renner is an actor to take notice of especially with all the buzz surrounding The Hurt Locker.

You can watch Neo Ned on the Starz channel in August. Give it a try!

  1. I've heard about this film for some time but....I dunno. Looks s like it could be a cornball mess. If I do see it, it'll be because of Rimmer who is BRILLIANT in The Hurt Locker

  2. I've come across the DVD a few times on various store shelves. The premise alone intrigues me. I think I'll add it to the Netflix queue.

And I'm eager to see The Hurt Locker whenever it arrives in my neck of the woods. The buzz about Anthony Mackie's performance sounds great.

  3. Mackie is every bit Rimmer's equal in the film. I did an interview with Mackie for Ebonyjet.com which will be up on the website next week.

  4. Yes, don't let the description of the film put you off. Neo Ned is fantastic! I love Jeremy Renner so this was a must-see for me and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I wasn't too familiar with Gabrielle Union's work, though I had seen her in a couple of things before. She was a revelation to me and I will seek out more of her movies in the future.

I agree with Sergio. Jeremy Renner is more than BRILLIANT in The Hurt Locker. Kathryn Bigelow has made an amazing movie. Bigelow, Renner, Anthony Mackie and Brian Geraghty better be up for Oscar's next year or there is no justice in the world.

  5. I seriously need to see The Hurt Locker! I've only heard good things about it. And I must admit, I kinda hope Kathryn Bigelow gets a best director nomination (and win) at the Oscars. It would be nice to see a female director have the statute proudly cradled in her arm.

  6. Ditto to what Sergio and V-Knowledge said. I've heard about it for a minute and the premise intrigues me, but for some reason I just don't buy Gabrielle Union. She always seems to play roles the same way, even when they're different.

I want to see The Hurt Locker too, but the violence is scaring me away!

  7. Don't let the violence scare you away from Hurt Locker. Yes it is violent but for a war film relatively restrained. We Were Soldiers, Mel Gibson's Viet Nam war film, is much more violent and graphic gore wise than Hurt Locker for example

  8. I still haven't seen We Were Soldiers. Gotta add that to the list!
