Candy (2006)

Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger are wildly magnetic and alluring in Candy. The film follows the heartbreaking tale of a couple bound by art and drugs. It's all-together poetic, subtle and in-your-face with the highs and the lows of addiction. Some of the most powerful moments come from a Ledger where the camera captures a look in his eyes that conveys the complexity of pain or the beauty of happiness. The same can be said of Cornish. The film also features Geoffrey Rush in a supporting role which rounds out the small cast. Candy is yet another reminder of why Ledger will be missed in the world of cinema.
