Trailer - Blue Valentine

This movie is going to be epic, in a subtle kind of way. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams are perfectly cast in this love story about a married couple on the verge of breaking up or moving forward. I'm excited for everything regarding the film: the performances, the cinematography, the poster, the soundtrack, everything. Blue Valentine has been on my must-watch list since I first heard that Gosling and Williams would be the leads. They're two of the best when it comes to soul-stirring indie performances (think Lars & The Real Girl and Wendy & Lucy). Watch the trailer and prepare to be impressed...

Blue Valentine

Blue Valentine premiered at Sundance this year and it's been getting good buzz. It stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams in a bittersweet story about a married couple. That by itself is refreshing because most movies about love tend to focus on the struggle of the two people getting together instead of them staying together. The latter offers more depth and with Gosling and Williams in the lead roles you can expect something impressive, their prior work in Half Nelson and Wendy and Lucy showcased a new range so the Blue Valentine pairing is a nice fit.

The cinematography has a naturalistic vibe, so I'm looking forward to seeing how Blue Valentine turns out. No word on a release date but The Weinstein Co. picked it up for distribution. I'll keep you posted as new info becomes available.

Lars and the Real Girl

If you haven't seen this movie already, you just gotta! It's one of those films that's heavy on the quirky in a completely delightful way. The cast, the town, the soundtrack it all adds up to a splendid piece of fimmaking.
