Whitney Houston Remembered

There will never be another Whitney Houston.

Let that sink in. Process it for a moment. She's gone. Her voice is a memory... a story of what once was.  Her melodies linger on in the hearts of her family, friends and fans.

Whitney's rendition of "I Will Always Love You" is the kind of song that gives you goosebumps no matter how many times you hear it. Her voice was that powerful, heavenly, simple, real.

There will never be another Whitney Houston

Elizabeth Taylor Remembered

Hollywood legend. Fashion icon. Elizabeth Taylor will be remembered in history as a true movie star. Her work in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Butterfield 8 won her two Oscars for Best Actress.

As a kid I remembered her most as Cleopatra and Michael Jackson's friend. As an adult I appreciate her place in cinema and plan on catching up on her films that I have yet to watch.

Patrick Swayze Remembered

Patrick Swayze knew how to embrace a woman, anyone who's seen Dirty Dancing or Ghost can attest to this. He gave us several memorable roles, some clearly iconic. I'm sure that ten, twenty years down the line that young girls (and women) will watch Dirty Dancing and still give a collective sigh when Johnny storms into the ballroom and says:
"Nobody puts Baby in a corner."

John Hughes Remembered

John Hughes made outsiders cool. Especially in Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club. His '80s love stories had a distinctive style, setting the mold for several other teen angst films to come. He made Molly Ringwald a star and gave us quirky characters like Duckie. Hughes did what many filmmakers often aspire to: create lasting films that can be watched over and over again regardless of generation.

Here's a tribute to Hughes when he won a producer award featuring several interviews with actors from his films.

And another one for good measure.
