Jesse Eisenberg to Host SNL

Good news on the awkwardly cute front... Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) is set to host Saturday Night Live on January 29th.

Let's hope they include some Zombieland and Kristen Stewart references plus some Michael Cera comparisons. Should be fun!

Magazine Round Up: Jesse Eisenberg + Emma Stone

The Zombieland co-stars hit the theaters big this fall. Emma Stone showcased her witty leading lady charm in Easy A and Jesse Eisenberg scored the lead as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. They're picture perfect awkwardly cute and they're both on the cover of Nylon magazines. Eisenberg is on the Nylon Guys edition and Stone is on the Nylon womens version. Don't let October pass you by without checking out their cover stories.

The Social Network

Nerd time! The Social Network features two Reel Artsy favorites (Jesse Eisenberg and Rashida Jones) and breakout talent Andrew Garfield who impressed me with Never Let Me Go. Watching The Social Network unleashes nostalgia circa 2005 (especially if you were in college during that time) and if you can handle witty comebacks from a guy in flip-flops then you'll be more than pleased with this skillfully crafted story of Facebook's genesis. Since you've already seen the trailer here's a scene with Jones and Eisenberg.

In theaters October 1st.

Butterflies Are Free

Goldie Hawn plays a quirky leading lady in this 1972 Oscar-winning film. Butterflies Are Free is the story of a blind man  who moves to San Francisco in a desperate act to seek independence from his over-proctective mother. In the city he meets a beautiful next door neighbor (Hawn) and sparks fly. It's a cute film, totally worth a watch and I'm surprised they haven't done a remake. If they do, it would be a nice twist on that Katerina Graham and Jesse Eisenberg movie pairing I mentioned last week.

Anyhow, here's the trailer:

Available on Netflix.

Trailer - The Social Network

Yahoo has released a full trailer for David Fincher's film about Mark Zuckerberg, who created Facebook in 2004 at Harvard during his sophomore year. It uses a choral version of Radiohead's 'Creep' to great effect. I love Fincher and can't wait to see this. Also, the screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin! Opens on October 1st.

Zombieland

Zombieland opens this weekend! Now you can watch Woody Harrelson kick some serious zombie butt. Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland) and Emma Stone (The House Bunny) bring their awkward coolness, so I expect fun. After you watch Zombieland share your favorite lines!

UPDATE: Check out Action Flick Chick's review of Zombieland.

Adventureland

I finally saw Adventureland. I enjoyed the simplicity of it all: the setting, the characters, the storyline and all the '80s references. It featured a nice ensemble cast, I especially appreciated the scenes with Martin Starr and Kristen Wiig and contrary to popular opinion Kristen Stewart didn't annoy me with her acting, I'm starting to like her career even more.

So what are your thoughts on the film?
