Flashback: Rashida Jones on 'Freaks and Geeks'

I was an avid fan of Freaks and Geeks when it originally aired and saddened when they canceled it. Seth Rogen and James Franco are obvious mentions when people refer to the show but Rashida Jones was part of the mix too!

As quoted in Anthem magazine Jones said this about her time on Freaks and Geeks:

"That was a lot of fun because I got to wear a Journey iron-on T-shirt that was actually from 1980 that had never been worn. My name was Karen Scarfoli, and I was kind of a fat-ass bully."

And we enjoyed every minute of it! The show wouldn't be the same without random geek torture. Watch the following video, then head over to Kelly's site where she chats about Bill Haverchuck's sweet dance moves.

:0 I love this episode, Rashida Jones plays such a bully! She really gets hers at the end though. I always thought it was funny that her name was Karen on Freaks and Geeks and on The Office.

I loved that episode!
"Kim Kelly is My Friend" I think is what it's called.
She was mean to Sam!

Freaks and Geeks! I love that show. My favorite moment though was the "You're in love with the too-ba girl" moment with Seth Rogen and James Franco.

I always wondered why "Karen" wasn't used more in F&G! She was as much a bully as "Kim Kelly"! Maybe Apatow thought there'd be too much tension on the set between those 2 and "Daniel" since he tried to go out with her after Kim dropped him! THAT was a good episode!

Wow! I had no idea Rashida Jones was in F&G. I barely recognized her. All you hear about it James Franco and Seth Rogan.

@Kelly
I guess people think she looks like a Karen, hehe.

@Frizz
Yep, that's the name of the episode!

@DJ
LOL at the "too-ba girl" line. I so remember that!

@Dianna
Yeah, that's probably why. The two of them would have wrecked complete havoc, but it seems like they needed Karen to leave in order for Lindsay and Kim to become friends.

@Action Flick Chick
She's not the only notable actor to make an apperance. Shia LaBeouf played a geeky injured mascot. So hilarious! http://bit.ly/46bpt

Ha! Wow, she looks so different! Have you gotten an interview with her yet??

@Issa
Not yet. I haven't even tried to set something up! Which is odd considering how much I blog about her. Clearly, it would be a dream interview but I'm not rushing it. If it happens, great!
