I really like the title of this film, it's telling of the human condition: when life gets hard we all seek ways to cope. The Way We Get By is a documentary that captures the journey home for soldiers and the people who are there to greet them with a simple hug, handshake and smile.

On call 24/7 for the past six years, three senior citizens have made history by greeting nearly one million U.S. troops at a tiny airport in Maine.
