Speculations about Rihanna and Channing Tatum starring in The Bodyguard remake have been circulating around the blogosphere. But instead of talking about that combo, I'll offer up my own alternatives.
1. Jensen Ackles and Leona Lewis.
If you've seen Ackles in Supernatural then you can understand why his blend of charming sarcasm makes him perfect for the role of Frank Farmer. Plus, he looks really good with a gun and that's paramount. And Lewis has the whole powerhouse voice going on. If anyone has the vocals to come close to Whitney it's her. "I keep bleeding, I, keep, keep, bleeding love..."
2. Alicia Keys and Chad Michael Murray.
She's not the strongest actress but neither was Whitney Houston. I can totally imagine Keys playing the sassy superstar who secretly has a crush on her all too cute bodyguard that comes in Chad Michael Murray package. "No one can get in the way of what I'm feeling..."
Those are my picks so who would you choose?

I'm going to think about this and see who else I can come up with!! Although I think Alicia Keys is definitely a solid option.
If H'wood absolutely has to remake this film, these would be my choices:
Anika Noni Rose and Leonardo DiCaprio would be my choice.
A couple of points, I listened to Leona's debut album and did not see what all the fuss was about. She has a decent voice, but the album was 'too' pop. I don't think she's even in the same Galaxy as Whitney, on vocals.
As for acting, I agree 100% about Whitney not being the strongest actress, but I'd go so far as to say that she was terrible in the original Bodyguard.
Alicia, at least has some emerging talent in regards to acting, and her singing abilities are good.
I also agree about Jensen,, I'd say he and Anika would work too.
As for Channing Tatum and Rhianna, please NO, NO and NO again.
Leona and Jensen would be awesome.......perfect match......she is a great singer, he is a talented HOT actor........
Anika Noni Rose and Leonardo DiCaprio could make an interesting duo. Although her persona doesn't scream "superstar" to me but it would work. Leona & Jensen are still my top pick!

I just can't see Rhianna or Channing Tatum in this film. I wish people would just top remaking films it's getting pretty sad let's make new movies......
Although I was never a huge fan of the original Bodyguard, if they did choose to do a remake I'm voting for Leona and Jensen Ackles.
I've never heard of Jensen Ackles but damn he is so fine!! And, yes that is the only reason that I pick those two.

How about Taye Diggs and Mariah Carey? A slight reverse, I mean why do a remake if it's almost exactly the same?
Humm if they did Taye Diggs how about Madonna she is a diva right.......or Fergie.....:)
I could see Taye Diggs and Mariah Carey sharing the screen together. I'm not so sure about Fergie and Madonna though.
Even if Jensen Ackles doesn't get considered for this role, I'd still like to see him play a romantic lead.

How crazy would Taylor Swift & Kanye West be?
It would be awesome for Jensen to do it but with another year of Supernatural coming up he is probably not even looking for projects. Kanye and Taylor now that would be a hoot; no one would take them seriously. I don't know it seems they were in their 30's so there are quite a few of great actress of Color in that range and even more white Actors to play a bodyguard. I find it interesting that someone chose Mariah and Taye? Well besides Jensen Ackles and Megalyn Echikunwoke I would pick Kerry Washington/Ryan Reynolds OR Thandie Newton/Matt Damon, Paul Rudd/Rosario Dawson OR Sanaa Latham/Nathan Filion The list can go on for a while
