Fempire Tuesdays

It's official, Zooey Deschanel and Mindy Kaling have made Tuesday nights "Fempire Tuesdays."  Witty writing, quirky storylines... the fall TV season is skipping down a refreshingly offbeat path with its female leads.

Longtime Reel Artsy fans should be familiar with all things "Fempire" related, but if you're new to the term check out its origins as you connect the dots between Zooey and Mindy to Liz Meriwether and her gang: Diablo Cody, Lorene Scafaria and Ben & Kate creator Dana Fox. Trailer - An Invisible Sign

Jessica Alba gets nerdy and awkward in An Invisible Sign. I've been waiting for a trailer to this movie since I first blogged about in 2008. Finally, the film has a release date courtesy of IFC Films. It's in theaters May 6th and currently On Demand via IFC.

Mona Gray is a 20-year-old loner who, as a child, turned to math for salvation after her father became ill. As an adult, Mona now teaches the subject and must help her students through their own crises.

Trailer - Monogamy (starring Rashida Jones & Chris Messina)

The long-awaited trailer is finally online! I've talked about Monogamy here and here and the film gets more appealing  with each new development. In theaters March 11th in NYC (wide release March 18th).

The first narrative feature from Oscar-nominated director Dana Adam Shapiro (Murderball), Monogamy fuses an absorbing mystery-thriller and a taut relationship drama.
